‘Jeopardy!’ announces Mayim Bialik, Ken Jennings as official co-hosts: ‘We couldn’t be more thrilled’

Jeopardy!” has found their new co-hosts in Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings, the show announced on Wednesday. 

The duo has been confirmed as permanent replacements for the late Alex Trebek. The duo has been serving as guest hosts since October.

“Please join us in welcoming the official co-hosts of Jeopardy!,@kenjennings and @missmayim! We couldn’t be more thrilled,” the show’s tweet announcing the news read.

Last month, Michael Davies, the show’s executive producer, told Variety, ‘‘We hope to have a hosting announcement very, very soon.”

Trebek’s tenure at the game-show spanned over 37 seasons. After a long battle with pancreatic cancer, the 80-year-old died in November 2020.

The replacement search for the legendary host proved to be difficult, with a slew of guests hosts including Aaron Rodgers, Anderson Cooper, Katie Couric, along with Bialik and Jennings, were rotated, until August of 2021, when executive producer, Mike Richards was tapped for the gig.

Shortly after the announcement was made, Richards’ past comments on a podcast resurfaced, which included sexist remarks. He stepped down less than two weeks after securing the position.

Thus began the reintroduction of both Bialik and Jennings to the rotation in August and September, respectively.
